More powerful than the previous models
The new Shimano Twin Power FD is an evolved product of the 2015 model and boasts many of Shimano’s reel technologies. The new Twin Power FD is a very strong spinning reel with a smooth and silent retrieve equipped with a long-stroke spool for increased casting distances.
Shimano Twin Power has a proud 30-year history. In 2022, the newly released Shimano Twin Power FD was equipped with a metal rotor that integrates Shimano’s Coresolid philosophy of quality and solidness. This feature has been pursued for many years, engineered to suppress distortion and twisting of the reel body under load.
Durability Built
The rigidity and durability of the frame have also been improved significantly, thanks to the metal Hagane Body. In addition, the metal rotor creates a stable winding feel that is comparable to the Shimano Stella SW range – the ultimate in smooth operation. Micromodule Gear II is featured in the new Shimano Twin Power FD and ensures the gears align and perform with nominal resistance and minimal reel noise. Additionally, the Hagane Gear has been upgraded for added strength.

Noise and vibration-free operation
The new Shimano Twin Power FD now features MicroModule Gear II for incredible smoothness that lasts longer than previous MicroModule gears. Silent Drive eliminates noise and vibration throughout the reel by totally redesigning mechanical parts to micro-tolerance levels.
By combining Shimano’s water-repellent coating and specially designed water-channeling labyrinth construction, X-Protect provides high-level water resistance without sacrificing light gear and rotor rotation. By incorporating the new Long Stroke Spool design, casting performance has also been improved.

SILENT DRIVE – From the fundamental, whole-body design to the most intricate parts of the drive train, including the drive gear, worm shaft, worm shaft pin, and worm shaft gear, every piece has been carefully reviewed, and the smallest clearance gaps and wobbles have been eliminated to the highest tolerances.
